In my current quest for healthier food, I came across two things that totally astonished me. Well, they're not THAT astonishing, but surprising, and making me pay more attention to what I put in my body. Did you know that a simple can of bread crumbs contains not only partially hydrogenated soybean oil, but also high fructose corn syrup? And did you know that high fructose corn syrup is also one of the first ingredients on a box of corn flakes?
Silly me for thinking that bread crumbs are simply crumbs of bread and that corn flakes are just flakes of corn...
My mission for the month of May is going very well, by the way. Enlightening. Energizing. Empowering.
The family's definitely getting a lot more fruits, veggies, and whole grains lately. :)
