musical beds

We've been playing a little "musical beds" as we call it here at the Zeltins home. As I posted awhile back, Cory and I moved our bed into the guest room and have been sleeping in there for a few months. Well, it wasn't working out very well because she was making so much noise kicking the side of her crib which was right on the same wall as my ear while I sleep.

One weekend I took her to Portland for her eye appointment and she slept in the Pack 'n Play in our hotel room. I noticed that night how nice and quiet it was sleeping in the same room with her. Well, when we got home she kept asking me about "boo ny night." She wanted to continue to sleep in the Pack 'n Play. I remembered how quiet it was and thought "there's the answer to my problem!" So, ever since then she has been sleeping in "boo ny night" and we're all getting restful sleep with it being more quiet around here. The only thing is, that meant she has THREE beds in her room. Basically, her room's just full of beds.

Until last Thursday. On Thursday I posted her crib on Craigslist and sold it within a couple of hours. (I love Craigslist, by the way.) So now she's just sleeping in "boo ny night" and this summer my plan is to get her into a regular bed. Not exactly sure which bed that will be, as now we've decided to move BACK into the master bedroom, which means the queen bed will come out of her room and go back into the guest room. (Does this make any sense?) I really want my guest room back, as much as I don't enjoy having a bathroom in my bedroom.

I'm thinking she will sleep on her crib mattress on the floor for awhile (I sold the crib minus the mattress) and I will put the futon in her room to be used as an on-the-floor couch. Then all the play stuff will eventually move back into her room, and out of our room. Although it's been nice having a separate play area. Especially when I need to take a shower - it's right outside the bathroom door.

Whatever. I like to keep things interesting. :)

So, I had to throw this photo in. The other day she thought it would be a great idea to put her baby to sleep in "boo ny night" with some books. Or should I say EVERY book. Notice the empty bookshelf behind "boo ny night?" That was fun.
