On Saturday (my 41st birthday!) we got the heck outta town for the California coast. Weeeeee!!! We LOVE road trips!
The first day we left around 11 AM and drove southwest to Crescent City, CA. About a 4.5 hour drive. Weredesh was a GEM on the entire ride. She loves getting out! We went to a local restaurant called the Chart Room where we paid a great deal of money for a mediocre meal. But it was all about the experience. The place was PACKED and we weary travelers needed a warm meal after a long day...
After filling our bellies and running Ayla (and Weredesh) at the beach, we headed for our digs at the Anna Wulf House bed & breakfast. An authentic Victorian house from the 1800's completely decked out in period antiques and relics. What a great place! Owned by mother (Mitzi) and daughter (Paula), they had warm DELICIOUS cookies waiting for us upon arrival. The bed was super cozy and we all slept like logs and woke up to an AMAZING breakfast with coffee the next morning. Quiche, fresh fruit, sausage, homemade coffee cake...YUM!...Weredesh was having a ball being the center of attention at breakfast and any other moment that presented itself.
