Still Checking The Mailbox!

So...I emailed USCIS on Friday regarding our immigration form.  It's now been a month, and I haven't heard anything (approval or not).  But considering Monday was a holiday, we'll see if I hear back today...It also says on the website that I should have a receipt number so that I can enter that online and check the status of our application.  But none of our documents have a receipt number, so I inquired about that also.  So, just waiting....

In the meantime, we've been working on spring projects...maybe it's a form of nesting? Does everyone get obsessed with their house being perfect before a baby comes? Anyways, I had mentioned in my last post that I had "cleaned the garage???"  Okay, I think I completely OVERstated that comment, because Cory went to TOWN on the garage this weekend.  Completely put me to shame!  I had to include a picture I was so impressed!  And do you like the little hangout area?  This is where he says he "contemplates his next project."  We tested it out and did lots of "contemplating" last night.  Hopefully it WILL encourage more projects - the house is starting to come along!  Oh, by the way, I included a picture of our new paint job as well...we're lovin' the new sage color...

Oh, and of course, the most current of Ayla...what a big girl!

Ok...so as I was typing up this post, I received an email back from USCIS saying the I-600A application is the only kind of immigration application that you are unable to track online.  Go figure.  But I swear I read on other blogs that others have tracked theirs???  Oh well...I never was that patient of a person...I remember my dad always telling me "stop being so persistent!"  NEVER!   ;~)

Cory and Lisa, thank you for sharing your journey with us. We pray for you and are excited with you. I know it is hard to be patient. I remember waiting this long time myself. Only in retrospect do I realize how important the waiting is. We're here for you! Love, Gary and Mimi

Whoo-hoo...Great looking blog template! So cute. I also got an obsession with the blog. It's fun for a hobby and it keeps you sane during the wait and you get to meet great people like you that are going through the same things. I am also waiting for our USCIS to come back. I think it has been around a month now. Still waiting...
