first day in tk
Weredesh started attending a new school this year - actually, the school she will be attending through the fifth grade. It's right up the street and better yet, it's finally FREE! Paying $650 a month for her Montessori school was pretty burdensome. However, it was WELL worth it. Her Montessori education has set her up beautifully for school - she's so smart and such a hard worker!
This year she didn't qualify (by age) for kindergarten, but just made the cut-off date for transitional kindergarten (TK). It's a new program they started just this year for those kiddos just a little too young to start kindergarten because they miss the cutoff date by one month or less. Weredesh missed the cutoff by exactly one month, so she qualified to the DAY. Her teacher tested her for kindergarten and she more than qualified academically - we just weren't quite sure if she was emotionally ready for it. TK has become the perfect fit. :)
What we really like is that when she goes to kindergarten next year, she will stay with her same teacher and become one of the classroom leaders. Right up her alley. :) Her teacher's name is Mrs. Petrucci, and so far we LOVE her.
