I've attempted (unsuccessfully) a few times to cornrow Weredesh's hair. For some reason, I just can't hold onto her hair - it just seems really fine and there's not much to grab on to. I found this cool link that gives very explicit instructions, and it makes a lot of sense to me, but I'm afraid it's just going to take a lot of practice, because right now it's just not happening. So I'll have to stick to little puffs, twists, and her natural fro. I'm excited because we are attending an ethnic hair care class in March and hopefully she will have an appointment to get her hair professionally cornrowed after the class. Maybe watching them might help me figure it out, however they probably braid REALLY fast.

I have absolutely ZERO skill at braiding hair. Like you, I just can't seem to hang onto the hair. I'll have to take a class....or find one of the new neighbors who would be willing to do it (and to teach me at the same time).
