ms petrucci
When we were trying to make the decision whether or not to leave Montessori and put Weredesh in transitional kindergarten, I was very apprehensive. I was worried that she would lose a lot of learning, not be challenged enough, and maybe develop some undesirable behaviors. Weredesh needs someone (a teacher) who is very consistent, and firm but sweet.
In August she entered Ms. Petrucci's TK class, and we have been so happy all the way around. She is everything and more we could want in a teacher, and today Ms. Petrucci told me how much she just loves having Weredesh in her class. "Weredesh is so caring and sweet. Has she always been this way?" (Well, yes...) Then she told me something that I just loved. She said, "I describe people as being either 'I am here' or 'you are there.' Weredesh is a 'you are there' kind of person. Everyone needs a Weredesh in their lives."
Gulp. That's beautiful. She is ALWAYS thinking of and helping other people. A caring, loving, empathetic, amazing young girl.
Ok. Do I love her teacher or what?
