Can you get sick from too much fun?
This morning Weredesh went from her bed, to sleeping on the bathroom floor, to our bed, to the living room carpet, to here, on the cool tile.
The past three weeks have been exhausting to say the least and maybe it's all finally caught up with her, or maybe she just has a virus. ;)
We were scheduled to be out of our house in Bend on the 18th of June and ended up leaving on the 19th. Why is it that no matter how well you plan it seems like you end up working your ass off those last few days and run short of time? Turned out our moving truck was too small (I thought we didn't have too much stuff?) and we had to add a trailer in the end. Even with the trailer we were packed without an inch to spare, not leaving until 7PM Sunday night and only making it to Klamath Falls the first night. Pulling a trailer also meant that we had to drive our little red Toyota all that way through the heat wave in Central CA (107 degrees, no A/C), following each other some 757 miles to So. Cal. We took a few days to do it and finally made it to Cory's Aunt Mara's house Tuesday night around 10PM. In the meantime we were desperately trying to close on our new place so we could make a seamless move just unloading our truck into our new place. We ended up at Mara's only 3 nights and the bank closed our deal Friday afternoon! This meant renting our truck and trailer for a few more days, but was well worth not having to put stuff in storage and move it out again a few days later.
When we arrived at our new place Friday night we came to find that they had turned the electricity off THAT DAY and we wouldn't have power until Monday morning. So we spent the weekend camping out in our new house with candles. However, that didn't seem to matter much, especially since it was nice and warm with the windows open and by the time the sun went down we were so wiped out anyways that all we wanted to do was go to bed. Also, our stove was gas so we could cook, even though we didn't yet have a "frigigator" (as Weredesh calls it), and lived out of coolers. Cory's dad, Andre, and his sister's boyfriend, Keith helped us unload our truck on Saturday (THANK YOU!) and just this week we're starting to feel settled in, further wearing ourselves out by spending lots of time at the pool and beach this week. I'm officially a lobster as I think I enjoyed the sun too much yesterday. That's what I get for going to the beach with my pasty Oregon skin. :)
I'll be taking another week or so off before looking for the elusive job, so hopefully I can catch up on more blogging this week, although I haven't been good at taking pics recently. :( I do have a few moving pics to share though.
To better blogging...
