My jaw dropped the other day when we got home from pre-school and Weredesh said "Mom, I'm going to go up to my room and play with my puzzles." I was like "okay."
Huh? Was she kidding? I felt this sudden burst of freedom that I could actually come home from work and have a moment to myself to decompress. The heavens were making that rejoicing "AHHHHH!" sound.
Oh yes, I love spending time with Weredesh. Tons of time. But to say she's a needy one, is putting it mildly. If she's ever playing on her own, it's EXTREMELY noticeable because it rarely ever happens. Cory and I will look at each other and say "shhh, don't say anything..." But my little girl is growing up! And I know that when she's becoming more independent is when I'll want to reel her back in. Isn't that how it works? :)
I can't believe I haven't blogged in over a month, even though I think about it everyday. There really aren't many pics to share. I have some photos from her recent swimming lessons and her birthday party WAY back in December. I'll get those up soon. But I do have a few updates...
What's she into? She's becoming such an independent little girl!
1. She's now dressing herself, and this means a lot of INTERESTING outfits. I love it! Layers and layers of mismatched items. One day she walked out of the house wearing leggings, pants, and 2 skirts. Of course that was just the bottom half. But she looks adorable in ANYTHING. And she still loves her "blue pants" the most. :)
2. She's really into mocking other children. Not sure why she does this, but one of the ways she likes to relate to other children is by copying absolutely every movement, word, and action. I can't say that I like this behavior, and neither do the kids she's mocking. I think she just has to learn the hard way, that this is not cool. Do you remember kids doing this to you in grade school and how annoying it was? They did it to bug the crap out of you. She just does it because, well, I don't know why. Not to bug anyone, but just to fit in I guess.
3. She's 3 going on 16! I already get tons of attitude, of which I know comes with being 3. Exerting her independence and finding her voice. Her teachers say that her language has EXPLODED recently. (I think that's their polite way of telling me she's talking everyone's ear off! :) There's definitely been an abundance of "why?" "where?" "who?" and "watch this!"
4. The "watch this!" brings me to boys. She LOVES boys. Which brings about annoying boy behavior. Running and sliding. Crazy tricks that might be dangerous. Loud annoying noises. You know, boy stuff. She gravitates towards boys no matter where we are. I think it's their energy that's appealing. And she has TONS of it.
5. She's STILL sleeping in her "boo ny nyte." I told you I wasn't going to fight that one. If she sleeps like a log (which she does for 12 hrs. every night), I'm not going to question it. Even though she barely fits in the thing anymore. We'll probably move her to a big girl bed this summer when I have time to deal with it. (Although I think I said that last summer) :)
6. She's still a HUGE snacker. Eats like a bird, but has TONS of energy. Where the heck does all that energy come from? Maybe the 12 hrs. of sleep she gets every night.
Pics to come soon...I swear...
