immunizations

Last week Weredesh had her 3 YEAR wellness appointment and everything looks GREAT! She's in the 50th percentile for weight and 60th for height. A very healthy 3-year old! And I'm always surprised at some of the developmental questions they ask, such as "does she know at least one color?"

"No, she actually knows ALL her colors." My child is a genius, thank you very much. :)

Then we got onto vaccinations which always gets me in a bitchy mood because they always talk about redoing all of the immunizations she received in Ethiopia, of which I refuse. It makes no sense to me to re-immunize when chances are that her initial vaccines were just fine. Without knowing, doctors are so quick to possibly OVER-vaccinate, and serve me a good dose of guilt if I choose not to.

Whatever.

Here's a photo of Weredesh the day AFTER her shots. She was MISERABLE. She slept on and off ALL DAY and acted like she was horribly ill. She's a child that NEVER lies down unless she's not feeling well. And this is MINUS the 3 vaccines they wanted to redo.

So glad I stuck to my guns.
