This Christmas felt extra special in our house this year. Even more so I think than last year. Hell, I don't even recall last Christmas. Weredesh was still sick, and I think I was in a daze - overtired, overwhelmed and just plain out of my mind trying to figure out motherhood (not that we ever get that one figured out). We only had Weredesh home a couple of weeks by Christmas last year. But this year was different. She's talking, walking, playing, and interacting. It's a blast to watch and she LOVES her gifts. THANK YOU friends and family! It's amazing what a different beast Christmas becomes once you have a little one on board. I think this house EXPLODED with toys Christmas morning. It was just the three of us with Ayla, enjoying our potica (Eastern European bread which takes half a day to make and I took the job over from grandma this year) and a hot cup of coffee. mmm...
This blog has evolved from an adoption blog to an online family journal. We brought Weredesh home from Ethiopia in December of 2008. She continues to amaze us in ways we never knew existed, as documented here...
