BACK IN THE DAY...
AND NOW!
Everything else checked out really well. We still struggle with the eating (typical toddler). She won't eat anything green, and only a few fruits. Just wants very constipating foods - grilled cheese, bananas, macaroni and cheese, milk, etc. Good thing she likes her prune juice!
Her vocabulary is slowly increasing. Some of her words:
dog - "gog"
open - "apo"
banana - "nana"
"ball"
"up"
"hi"
"hi ayla"
"all gone" or "all done"
baby - "baba"
"mama"
"dada"
and her new word is "OUCH!" after daddy's bike wreck. :)
and she uses sign language for milk, more, and eat. She will, however, have a completely unintelligible conversation with you if you are willing.
She's ALL OVER THE PLACE and starting to run - sometimes she gets ahead of herself and takes a header, but she's moving a lot more quickly these days and into EVERYTHING. Now that she's taller she climbs up on chairs, couch, grabs things off counters, shelves. Loads of fun. :) Everyone that spends any time with her says "man, she's BUSY!"
One area where we're very lucky is her sleeping habits. And she's been sleeping later, which has been nice for summer. She's in bed by 7:30 and usually up around 7 or 7:30. Goes to bed without any fuss - just loves her crib. And naps somewhere between 1.5 to 2.5 hours each day.
Let's see...what else. She still LOVES her baby and her imagination is starting to develop more and more. She's been continuing her pre-school two mornings a week during the summer and will be back at four mornings a week once I get back to work (after Labor Day).
As for Cory and I, we're just hanging in there trying to keep up with it all and not get too overwhelmed. Yesterday I got the day off and went for a hike with some friends from work. It was daddy's day with W! They had a great time going to the museum, Old Mill District, and playing with Gavin. As for me, I got some well-needed R & R in the great outdoors. Look how beautiful! (And I'm talking about the scenery of course). :)
