weredesh: East Lake 09

A couple of weeks ago we were brave and took Weredesh on her first ever camping trip. She never ceases to amaze us. She did fantastic and we ALL had a GREAT time. Turns out she LOVES camping! She had a ball exploring the campground, taking a 2.5 hr. hike in the baby backpack up Newberry Crater with mommy and daddy, playing at the lake with Ayla, in the tent, eating dirt, and so on and so on...she is so content when there's lots of freedom to just play and play and play! We found it much more relaxing than being at home because there was so much for her to do. She just loves to be busy busy busy...

And she slept GREAT! 12 hrs. straight through each night. It was pretty dang cold at night so we put her in her feetie pajamas with a down snowsuit over that. It was like a body-shaped sleeping bag and she slept in her porta-crib. I think it helped that the snow suit was a little tight because she couldn't move much - it just forced her to lie down and sleep. Is that mean? hee hee...check out the pictures of her in the crib. Kinda funny. It looks like she's face down, but I swear to you her head is turned to the side. :)

I couldn't resist taking several photos of her at her dirtiest. I couldn't get over how gnarly she looked...hee hee...the trick was just to keep her in lots of clothes to keep her clean. Cory and I admitted that it was one of our best camping trips ever. Both of us remember our camping trips as kids and they top the list of our fondest memories. It makes you feel really good to be able to provide those kinds of experiences for your little one. I have a feeling there will be a lot more camping in our future. :)
