Maybe it's just because I have the most amazing husband on earth, but Mother's Day has become my all time favorite holiday. :)
5:20 am - Weredesh wakes up. Cory goes into her room and magically gets her back to sleep. She sleeps until almost 8:00 am which is unheard of in this house!
8:00 am - Cory gets up with Weredesh and heads downstairs to start the day.
8:10 am - I try to sleep in, but sleep just wasn't happening at that point. Of course I'd been up since 5:20 am anyway. I go downstairs to find Cory preparing a beautiful arrangement of flowers in a vase and signing a card with Weredesh. I'm called a "surprise ruiner." :) Oh well...
We have some peanut butter toast and mom goes BACK to bed! Weeee!!!
9:30 am - My own snoring wakes me up and I go downstairs to the most delicious breakfast: omelet, bacon, red potatoes, fresh grapefruit, coffee, o.j...mmm....we eat out on the back patio because it's a GORGEOUS warm sunny, day. :) For the remainder of the morning I lay in the hammock, work a little in the yard, play with Weredesh...ahhh...
11:45 am - Weredesh sleeps for almost THREE HOURS!! (also unheard of in this house). Did someone tell her it's Mother's Day? Cory and I enjoy 3 peaceful hours out in the yard and grill up a yummy lunch.
3:00 pm - We go visit grandma, take Ayla to the puppy park and eat a yummy dinner here (click): Flatbread Community Oven
6:00 pm - We head home, get Weredesh fed, bathed and in bed by 7:30. Now we're enjoying a relaxing evening at home...
In all this time I did not change ONE diaper, gruel through ONE feeding (although feeding has gotten much better lately), or give ONE bottle. A complete baby break! This girl likes a little pampering now and again. Isn't Cory wonderful?
Now I'm off to bed, because I'm sleepy from all this relaxing. :)
Happy Mother's Day!!!
